Uno sfiduciato Terry Chambers
abbandona la band che rimane in tre ospitando Peter Phipps alle
percussioni. Partridge compone nel suo giardino ispirandosi alla
natura circostante e nasce un album travagliato anche a causa dei
dissapori coi produttori S.Nye e B.Seargent (solo per Great Fire).
E' un periodo negativo per gli Xtc che hanno abbandonato le esibizioni
live ritrovandosi un Partridge sempre pił paranoico.
