Questo è l'ultimo album per la Virgin, in seguito avra' inizio un digiuno musicale durato ben sette anni a causa di problemi contrattuali con la casa discografica stessa. Dave Mattacks è il batterista-ospite di turno.

Dopo Nonsuch e per sette anni, vedranno la luce solo delle raccolte. Andy, Colin e Dave saranno 'fedeli alla linea' mettendo in atto un vero e proprio sciopero nei confronti della Virgin. Nel frattempo non si ferma la vena compositiva di Partridge che, dopo problemi con il divorzio e vari malanni fisici come la perforazione di un timpano e disturbi alla prostata, sostiene di aver composto circa 80 pezzi.
